James Clarkson Gets It! Hoaxes Roswell Book Review

Author’s intro:  I really do believe a flying saucer crashed outside Roswell, New Mexico back in 1947.  I did a tremendous amount of research about the crash and weather balloon cover-up by the Air Force.  If you have done the same, you also believe it really happened.  So, in writing Hoaxes Roswell, my intent was to incorporate what happened back then into an engaging novel.  And, in the end, turning around the whole weather balloon hoax the Air Force pulled and shoving it back in their faces.  James Clarkson got that!

It’s all about the kids!

But just as important, I wrote the novel from the perspective of a young teenage boy in 1966. For the synopsis, click here.  I did this because I felt it was valuable to keep the interest going with a whole new generation that may not have a clue to what happened back then or how very important the event.  James Clarkson got that!  So, some may put this off as just another young adult novel.  But ask any adult who has read it what they think, and you will come out with a very different perspective.

Here is some information about James:

James Clarkson has stood in two worlds for many years – a career professional investigator in the criminal justice field and as a lifelong researcher of the UFO Mystery.  He served as the Washington State Director of MUFON (the Mutual UFO Network) and was on the Special Assignments Team for MUFON National. He has lectured internationally at Paris, France, and at many UFO events across the country including the Roswell UFO Conference in New Mexico; the International UFO Congress in Arizona; the Ozark UFO Conference in Arkansas; and the UFOfest in Oregon; and he was featured in an interview for the UFO HUB network on YouTube with over 179,000 views.  He has appeared as a guest on radio and television, and is the author of Tell My Story- June Crain, the Air Force & UFOs and the Westport UFO Crash Retrieval Event.  You can find James Clarkson’s webpage here.

I met Jim at the McMinnville UFOfest in May of 2019 and gave him a copy of my just-released paperback.  It was exciting to have him review my book because Jim is a credible UFO investigator who understands that this is not just a novel, but also a statement on what happened back in 1947.  I am so glad that James Clarkson got it, and the fact he is acknowledged as a serious investigator and established personality in this field helps give credit to my work.

Since he published his review of my novel we have been in contact and I now consider him a valuable resource in researching the background for my next novel in the series, Hoaxes Revelation.

Here is James Clarkson’s 5 Star Review

Recently while attending the McMinnville, Oregon UFO Festival, the author approached me and gave me a copy of his novel – HOAXES ROSWELL.

First, I will admit to being a serious UFO Researcher. However, I am still a romantic at heart. I love an adventurous novel, and one about young people navigating the powerful emotions of the teenage years. Add in nostalgia for a better, easier time, and I was hooked.  Second, I enjoyed the way the author wove hoaxed events with reality.  Third, the novel took some very important themes and delivered them in a story-line where I want more. When I hear the word “Roswell” I think of an ongoing 30 plus year investigation with around 600 witnesses who each have a piece of the puzzle. Spoiler Alert: It wasn’t a crashed Weather Balloon next to a Parachute Dummy. DJ Schneider is doing something important – capturing some of the very REAL truths about Roswell and delivering them in an entertaining novel.

Without any giveaways HOAXES describes very well just how far the authorities will go to keep the reality of Contact a secret from the public. That cover-up is still going on, but that is another story.  So for me, HOAXES ROSWELL was great fun, but it contains important revelations. Roswell remains the mother-lode UFO event in the USA. Those who scoff at this idea either don’t know, or don’t want us to know the Truth.

DJ Schneider, more, please sir! -James E Clarkson, the UFO Detective
